The Spiritual Realm Part 1
For the sake of brevity I’m not going to list all of the appropriate biblical references for the nature of the spiritual realm in the kingdom of God. As a human being, we all know that there is some other unseen realm around us that we suspect influences us and/or our seen world. As a Believer in Jesus (Yeshua) we are taught that God is Spirit and part of God is the Holy Spirit. We are also taught that there are angels (good and bad) and demons that inhabit this unseen realm. Since there is a Holy Spirit there must be unholy spirits as well. Most Believers have read the Biblical references to the fall of Lucifer and later that of Man. The students of the Scriptures will know many more details about the function of demons, angels and fallen angels.
My attempt here is to provide some basic principles of the spiritual realm and an overview of how it functions and how we as Believers can interact with that realm to reveal more of our Father.
I’ve was baptized shortly after birth, which was really more of a dedication to The Lord than a true baptism. I was baptized in water when I was 9, in a farm pond. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit 17 years later. (I’m approaching 60 years from that event.) I’ve been baptized in fire several times since then. I am not intending to go into a discussion of the baptisms here. They are listed in the Scriptures, and I have already written about our experiences with them.
I’ve functioned in several of the ‘positions’ in the Church over the years; from bible quiz team, VBS teacher, bible study leader, high school chaplin, small group leader, elder, and prophet, none of which paid a salary. Its important to realize that these are presented in the Scriptures as a function and a calling to be recognized, not a position of authority to be given and paid for by another man nor organization. My wife and I have been involved in healings, deliverances, evangelism, helping younger Believers, writing, and administering the various baptisms. Enough background.
The question that most Believers wonder about is how does a person in this physical realm communicate with God who is Spirit and has His own realm. This is the question of the ages! We are most likely told, the first time we ask that question, that the Bible is Him speaking to us. That leads us to the next question, what version of the Bible, there are hundreds of them in a couple of hundred of languages. The answer is usually the particular version and language that the person who answered the question for you uses, and he/she determined that from the particular denomination he/she belongs to.
Some denominations will tell you that their version is The Only version without error, every word breathed by God, without fail (or translation error), and everything that God ever wanted to say to you is written in it. So we start there, searching our newly purchased version to find our God. We know that He is around because of what we experienced at our conversion and baptism. So we discover that in our search and study that God speaks King James english, (that’s a little confusing). We then find ourselves in a dilemma. Our mind and our heart are at odds. Our heart just wants to experience Father God’s love for us, but out mind says that the only way for that to happen is to study and He speak King James english or whatever version we were told was God voice. Our approach to Him is kind of like pin the tail on the donkey. There we stand, blindfolded, with our little pin and binder twine in our hand, after getting a glimpse of the donkey then spun around a dozen times and not knowing which way the donkey is when we stop. Needless to say we have a better chance of pinning the tail on our leader than the donkey. After the leader dodges and we ask him why we failed, he answers that just we need to memorize more scriptures and/or study harder or attend another service or pay a more tithe.
The fallacy of this approach is Father is not looking for another bible student. (Satan knows the Bible better than you ever will.) He wants a working eternal relationship with His newly born son or daughter. He wants to talk to you more than you want to talk to Him. The heart of the new mother who just gave birth to her first child, a few minutes ago, had it’s origin in Father Gods heart! That was His gift to all new mothers.
Because He wants so badly to embrace and talk to His newborn, He will use the scriptures to communicate to you, but this Infinite Father is by no means restricted to using the scriptures to communicate in spite of what your ‘pastor’ may say. He uses everything in your world to talk to you. “All thing work together for GOOD to those who are called according to His purpose” We too, like the new born child, have to learn the feel of His touch, the sound of His voice and the meaning of His words. Unfortunately the church doesn’t seen to like to teach on that subject.
I spend the first 25 years of my christian experience studying different versions in different languages believing what I was told, searching to find Father’s Love. This didn’t change until I experienced the Spiritual realm after opening my heart to the Holy Spirit of God. BLAST OFF! My whole world changed in a few days! The door opened to the realm of the Spirit and my search for Him accelerated with a whole new universe to explore. I was blown away.
